Don't let a renewal be a surprise
If a customer pays you on a renewal, whether it's a yearly plan, a service contract or a membership, the worst way for them to find out is a charge on their card.
About 30 days before each renewal date, send a short heads-up:
Hi [Name], your [plan/contract] renews on [date]. Before it does, I wanted to check: is it still doing what you need? If anything should change, reply and we'll sort it out.
That note does two jobs. Happy customers feel looked after. Unhappy ones tell you now, while you still have a month to fix it, instead of quietly cancelling on the day.
Put renewal dates in your calendar today so none sneak up on you.
